ur History

The property on which the park now exists, was purchased in 1959 by my father, Bob Wolf, which was 640 acres of farm land and open range land for cattle. One of the ranch's best assets was an abundance of water, with creeks, canals and 16 fresh water wells. He, along with farming and ranching, began building lakes and ponds where there were low areas in which crops were hard to grow. He developed a small fishing/picnic area called Serena Vista, which, when he sold it in the 1980's became Wild Water Adventures theme park.

In 1971 we built the largest of the lakes, where our park is situated now. The 40 acre lake spawned great interest, and my father, at that time, got into the lake building business.

It wasn't until 1986 that my wife, Paula, and I came up with the idea for developing a private park. My wife has always enjoyed cooking, entertaining and gardening. I lean towards the designing, construction and landscaping end. We sold our mobile home on the lake, acquired the necessary permits to open a private park, started construction, and we were in business!

The first few years were slow but showed promising growth. If it had been entirely up to me, I would have borrowed 5 million dollars and blown it wide open. But, Paula, being my checks & balances, level-headed wife that she is, said that all we needed to do was to trust in the Lord, put what little money we would make back into the park, and let it grow.

As the park grew and we grew in the knowledge of the business, more than 20 years later, she was right - again.

Today we are staying very busy with weddings, proms, class reunions and a wide range of other special events and functions. My wife and I, along with our professional staff, receive a great deal of satisfaction in our park and are dedicated to making every function at Wolf Lakes the best ever.

We will continue to fill the needs of others in providing a safe, clean and unique location for them to enjoy. Our desire is that your experience with Wolf Lakes Park would be filled with pleasurable memories.
